Office Of The Governor And Texas Workforce Commission Announce 2016 Small Business Forum Locations

The Office of the Governor and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) today announced the locations for the 2016 Governor’s Small Business Forums across Texas. The El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has been selected as the partner for the first forum to take place on April 14th, 2016. First Lady Cecilia Abbott will attend and participate in forums where she will present the State of Texas Small Business Awards.

“Small businesses are the backbone of Texas’ economy,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “By utilizing these forums, entrepreneurs and small business owners can acquire the knowledge they need to start and grow their enterprises. Together, we can build an even more prosperous economic environment for small businesses throughout the Lone Star State.”

The following cities will also be hosting Small Business Forums:

Dallas/Fort Worth
Corpus Christi
San Marcos
La Vernia
San Angelo

The Governor’s Small Business Division will also offer eight Service Provider Workshops to ensure a smooth transition of resources and a continuum of services between small business owners and entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the Governor’s Small Business Division is offering Service Provider Grants designed to enable Texas-based small business service providers to enhance and diversify projects and activities benefiting the State’s small businesses and Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs). These grants, up to $10,000, give small business service providers a greater degree of flexibility and creativity of offerings to small businesses in their respective areas.
