The Decatur Economic Development Corp. board Wednesday named Thom Lambert executive director.
Lambert’s been serving as interim director since January, replacing Mary Poch , who resigned in September 2015. This is Lambert’s second stint with the local entity. He first served as executive director from August 2002 to November 2008.
Lambert spent the last few years at Crockett EDC before returning to Wise County.
EDC Board President Jason Wren said a subcommittee that included board member Randy Bowker and vice president Jay Davidson narrowed the applicant pool, interviewing six. They presented the final three to the board for further interviews.
“In the middle of that process, we were very pleased to learn that Thom was rejuvenated when he got back to Decatur and wanted to put his name in the hat as well, not just on an interim basis, but to be considered as our permanent director.”
