DSHS has confirmed that our active case count data is correct and meets the threshold set forth in Governor Abbott’s order for five active cases or less. This means businesses in Wise County can operate at up to 50% capacity instead of 25% capacity.
We must all continue to exercise personal responsibility to do what we can to be healthy, practice social distancing, and limit the spread of COVID-19.Businesses that choose to be open should have safeguards in place to promote healthy operations, and all of us as individual citizens should practice safe behavior, too. Some business will choose to operate at 50% capacity; some will choose to not open yet. Some folks will choose to go out to eat at a restaurant; some folks will choose to stay home. That’s all okay. We have to make the right choices for the situation we are in and the people we are around. In any situation, be safe. Remember that COVID-19 is an active virus in the community, and we need to continue to work to limit its spread.
