Decatur EDC Recognizes Outgoing Board Secretary and Welcomes New Board Member

DECATUR EDC RECOGNIZES OUTGOING BOARD SECRETARY AND WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBER (DECATUR, TEXAS) – At a regular meeting of the Decatur Economic Development Corporation (DEDC) Board of Directors held on the morning of June 15, 2022, the DEDC Board recognized Will Carpenter for his service to the organization. 

Mr. Carpenter most recently served as the DEDC Board Secretary and is replaced in that capacity by fellow Board Member Jake Hayes. DEDC Executive Director Kevin Holzbog stated, “Will has been an outstanding board member and has contributed to the economic growth that Decatur has experienced in recent years. Will has a big heart for Decatur and for all of the people that live and work in our community.” 

During the board meeting DEDC Board President, Jason Wren, presented a plaque to Mr. Carpenter reflecting the organization’s appreciation for his service. In his presentation Mr. Wren recognized Mr. Carpenter for his commitment to the work of the DEDC. “Will has always provided value to the DEDC Board and Staff through his perspective as a local business owner and citizen. We appreciate Will’s continued service to the community on the Decatur City Council.” Concluding the presentation Mr. Carpenter said that, “The DEDC Board has been the most rewarding board that I have had the honor to serve on”, and that the work of the DEDC “…is all about improving people’s lives.” 

Filling the DEDC Board vacancy is current City Council member, Eddie Allen. Mr. Allen stated that he is excited about the work of DEDC and looks forward to serving on the board.
